Stow is committed to a role of environmental leadership by promoting environmental and ethical good practice at all levels internally and externally. To ensure that our sustainability vision is strategically driven from policy to property level we have teamed up with our JV partner, Grosvenor, to comply with their UK Environmental Policy. Grosvenor set some of the most stretching targets in the property sector to create, invest and manage places that benefit people, the economy and the environment in the future. We commit to optimising and future-proofing the value and performance of our assets by integrating cost-effective sustainability measures into planning, implementation and asset management process.
Grosvenor Property UK Environmental Policy goals consist of:

  • Reduce emissions by at least 52% by 2023
  • Be carbon neutral across portfolio including suppliers and occupiers by 2025
  • Have net zero carbon operational emissions from all directly managed buildings by 2030
  • Become climate positive by 2050
  • Divert 95% construction waste from landfill
  • Adopt circular economy principles, including reducing waste at source, recycling and re-using materials
  • Implement Green Leases as a standard of working to occupiers, to increase proportion portfolio procuring renewable energy

Grosvenor Carbon Commitment

Stow strive to meet best practice in non-regulate areas, integrating considerations into our activities, working in partnership with clients, agents, contractors and other suppliers. An example of this can be seen with our development at 33 Davies Street, 36 Park Street, 425 Oxford Street and recently 20 Balderton Street or adoption of green leases throughout or portfolio. Stow is dedicated to improving the environmental performance of our buildings to the Green Agenda maximising energy efficiency.

Our processes are measured regularly so actions for improvements can be made. We aim to minimise adverse social and environmental impacts of our business and uphold the integrity of our business relationships and ethics. As well as implement sustainability improvements that will add value to our existing assets and incorporate consideration of sustainability risks into our property management decisions.

Code of Practice for Commercial Leases

Stow supports the Code which aims to promote fairness in the letting of commercial property, and recognises a need to increase awareness of property issues amongst occupiers, especially small businesses.
